Cissy Ou is described as “a highly regarded leader in student recruitment for international education” in China. She has worked for Study Group on two occasions, returning to the company in 2015 after broad experience in the Chinese commercial education sector. She founded the company’s Chinese office and rapidly built-up teams focused on training, recruitment and agent management to meet the needs of university partners and Chinese students.
“Cissy’s sector expertise in China is second to none and she has the full respect of her colleagues and commercial partners for her drive and ability to build effective and collaborative teams,” a Study Group executive said.
Over the last 12 months, Cissy’s insight into the international education market in China has had a huge impact on the sector, including feeding into Study Group’s report to UK universities on Chinese student trends, exploring the challenges and opportunities in the sector.
Cissy has been “fundamental to the success of Study Group’s China operations over the last year” and has supported a pipeline of Chinese students at undergraduate and postgraduate level for universities around the world.
“Despite the Chinese saying that ‘women hold up half the sky’, education leaders in China are often men. Cissy demonstrates every day the professional, commercial and educational contribution of women in business in China and is a role model for colleagues respected by her international colleagues,” the executive said.
