Kam Chohan
leadership
Executive director
ECIS | Europe
Kam Chohan joined ECIS in February 2018 as Chief Operating Officer and became Executive Director in August 2020. With a background in education and leadership, Kam is a learning leader and brings insight, wisdom, and compassion to the role. She has demonstrated the ability to build meaningful, lasting relationships that contribute to personal and organisational development and improvement.
A colleague of Kam’s said: “Kam is an excellent role model. She is inspiring and takes education to the next level by ensuring that all stakeholders have a say in making significant and positive social change in education globally.”
Kam has led the ECIS’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice project. She is committed to social justice and equity through diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding in international education.
A colleague said: “Kam has turned ECIS into an organisation that has opened up our services to schools that previously wouldn’t have been able to afford membership but badly needed to be able to use our services to enable a safe environment for their students. It has allowed more educators and support staff to gain access to our child protection courses. Kam is open to all suggestions from our very small team and no one is afraid to voice their opinion or say if they think something won’t work.”
Kam actively encourages women, people of colour and diverse backgrounds to get involved with the organisation at events, on courses and by becoming a member of the board when spaces open up.
