Roop Sagoo is the nursery manager at Ashbourne Day Nurseries. With over eight years of experience in the early years sector, Roop’s passion for education is infectious. She has taken on a mentoring role for a number of women in the sector and is “an inspiration to everyone who works with her”.

One of her mentees explained that they had felt they were “not good enough and thought that working in a nursery wasn’t for me anymore,” but after Roop took on a mentoring role she “supported me in bringing back my spark for early years”.

At a time were staff retention is a challenge in the sector, the ability to motivate and light a spark in others is more invaluable than ever.
